Senior Data Engineer | Global Investment Manager | Boston, MA
Client:
This top investment management firm is looking for an experienced data engineer to help them navigate to the cloud effectively. This firm has a Microsoft focused tech stack, so exposure to on prem databases as well as cloud databases is needed (SQL Server, Azure Synapse). This role will be focused on the development and support of the firm's mission critical data processing applications. The team focuses on database development, integration as well as system support. The core focus will be getting to Azure Synapse effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Python and SQL based solutions
- Effectively maintain and support the Azure Synapse Data Warehouse
- Facilitate cloud migrations, going from existing to modern systems
- Implement data modeling best practices to increase firm wide data usage
Requirements:
- 3+ years of Python AND SQL programming
- Exposure to the fintech industry is a plus
- Experience migrating applications to the Azure cloud ecosystem
- Experience working with enterprise applications
- Deep understanding of the Azure data suite (Synapse, Azure SQL DB, Data Factory)
- Comfortable working with APIs and databases with python
- Understanding of DataHub a plus
